Thank you for caring about the future of Needham by visiting this website. Here are some of the reasons why I am asking you to consider supporting me on April 8th as a member of the Needham Board of Selectmen.

Commitment
As you look over the “About Denise” section of this website, I hope you will see abundant evidence of my abiding commitment to our wonderful town.  I have lived in Needham with my husband Russell for more than 20 years, raising four children: Monica, Beth, Alex and Andy, who have gained both “roots and wings” in our community. My commitment to Needham has spanned the age continuum -- from young children to adolescents, families, seniors, and the most vulnerable in our midst.  I think you’ll agree that I not only “talk the talk but walk the walk”.

Communication/ Coalition Building
I believe that the people of Needham need and want town leaders who will listen carefully to their concerns, communicate in a transparent manner and deliberate before decision making.  As your Selectman, I promise to use my ability to develop coalitions to honor and acknowledge the many concerns that people have about the myriad issues we are confronted with.  And I promise to establish benchmarks and timelines to accomplish our goals in a timely manner.

Leadership
I believe that Needham is well served when leadership reflects our shared values and is action oriented, creative and courageous. While crisis management will be needed from time to time, my leadership style is to develop a strategic plan, offering a long-term vision that informs, inspires, and motivates all the members of the community.  I believe that community --- where everyone works together so that we are proud of our “place” and our “place” can be proud of its people– is what really matters.
